I am Peter Griffiths the Managing Director and my wife Moira a Director of Watkin & Williams Ltd here in Llangollen
This is a family run business which now has been established some 10 years. It all started when we saw this shop for sale which was
at no. 4 Berwyn Street (next door), a small but an interesting little shop selling cookery items, decorating and partly hardware items.
We decided to take the plunge and buy the business which then was of about 120 sq ft.
This was 1998 and we found ourselves around one year later in 1999 employing Andrew as now our new little business
was steadily growing. I thought at the time there was an opportunity to expand the business even further and bought a van as we had
been making small deliveries with our car and now needed something a bit bigger. Some 18 months later came our tipper allowing
us to deliver timber, coal, sand and cement to local businesses.
Today, 10 years on we have 7 employees and have increased our sales floor area to about 500sq ft adding Motor Parts
Camping equipment and Pet Supplies to our range of products. Our client base has grown, that we make regular local deliveries
as far as Corwen, Ruthin, Wrexham, Chirk, Oswestry and of course around Llangollen.
The brains of the business, Started his career in the forestry,
a former accountant from knows a bit about wood,

worked as a delivery driver previously started work in the lock smith
in Liverpool, great sense of humour. trade at 15 before moving up to
to Llangollen in 2007
